Age/Sun Spots
Age spots (sun spots), also known as lentigines, are harmless, flat, brown discolorations of the skin which usually occur on the back of the hands, neck, and face of people over 40. They are caused by years of over-exposure to the sun and are the result of sun damage. Sun spots, harmless unless abnormal in size or color, are often a source of personal embarrassment to many individuals. The only preventive measure against them is liberal use of sunscreen, avoidance of sun exposure, and faithful use of protective clothing.
