Thread Lift/Contour® Threads

A thread lift an innovative, minimally invasive treatment that uses specially designed, barbed sutures, made of clear polypropylene, to gently shift sagging tissues in an upward direction. As the aging process begins, connective tissue thins and collagen and elastic fibers break down. These changes in the support structures appear as sagging, deep creases, folds and wrinkles. During a thread lift, these special Contour® Threads are inserted under the skin and fixated in an umbrella-like fashion so that tension creates suspension to gently lifts sagging tissues of the brow and face and hold them in a lifted position. This is an excellent procedure for treating such problems as sagging cheeks and brows or asymmetric brows. In most cases, there is minimal discomfort and patients can return to work or normal activities in less than a week. Usually only one procedure is needed to achieve the desired lifting effect.
