BOTOX® Cosmetic Injections

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, non-surgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows of people from 18 to 65 years of age. It is the only treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA); results are dramatic and apparent within days.

In clinical trials, nearly 90% of men and women surveyed rated the improvement in the appearance of frown lines between their brows as moderate to better 1 month after treatment. Results can last for up to 4 months, and may vary. BOTOX® Cosmetic has been used to treat a million people in the United States since being approved by the FDA in 2002. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery ranked BOTOX® Cosmetic as the most popular of all physician-administered cosmetic procedures (surgical and non-surgical combined) in 2002 and 2003.

Unlike surgery, BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments are minimally invasive with no downtime or recovery. Most people return directly to work or normal activities following treatment. A more natural and relaxed appearance is usually reported within days.

Dr Treen will determine where to administer several tiny injections to achieve the best results. No anesthesia is required, although an anesthetic cream may be administered prior to treatment. Treatment usually takes no longer than 10 minutes. Side effects include minor bruising at the injection site, headache, a temporary droop of the eyelid, respiratory infection, flu syndrome, and nausea.
