Laser Removal of Birthmarks

By using a high-energy pulsing laser, birthmarks can now be easily and precisely removed. Laser surgery is nearly painless, and usually requires no anesthetic. There is no pain, only a slight tingling sensation. Even babies can be safely treated. Laser treatments can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, and the number of treatments will depend on the darkness of the birthmark. Most people need at least five treatments for optimal results. The first two to three treatments will show the most dramatic results. Most birthmarks will lighten at least 75%; some may lighten by as much as 95%.

Laser removal of birthmarks requires a healing time of five to seven days.
